Description
Our natural Roman chamomile essential oil for detergents is obtained from the plant with the botanical name Chamaemelum nobile. In international practice, the product bears the name Chamomile Roman natural essential oil for detergents. The composition of the product remains entirely natural. It allows no preservatives or colourants, and the volatile part grows out of esters of angelic and tiglic acid, which predominate in this botanical species. The esters are complemented by branched alcohol residues, and the natural cultivation method keeps this picture unchanged. The unchanged picture shows in the odour, which remains sweet, fruity-floral and herbaceous. The odour carries a gentle and warm character. The strength of the scent goes hand in hand with the liquid consistency and with the pale blue to grey-green colouring of the product. The colouring comes from the flower heads, which are used for the extraction and release their pigments during steam distillation. The flower heads are harvested from plantations in Bulgaria, where the species is cultivated permanently. Bulgaria provides the raw material, while the species originates from Western Europe and Northwest Africa, and the family of the plant bears the name Asteraceae. The genera in Asteraceae bear small inflorescences that yield aromatic raw materials. The small inflorescences of the species yield an aromatic fraction that steam distillation transfers in pure form, as the method retains only the volatile constituents of the plant material. Along with the homogeneous liquid, the product also offers a pure aromatic fraction with a natural plant tone. The flowers of Roman chamomile remain the only part that enters the extraction.

Application
Natural Roman chamomile essential oil is included in household and professional detergents as a fragrance ingredient of laundry detergents and household soaps. Both types of detergents use the oil as a perfume component that determines the odour of the finished formulation. The odour is sweet and fruity-floral, with a herbaceous nuance. The scent covers the inherent smell of the washing bases, since perfume ingredients in detergents serve precisely for such masking. The same aromatic profile also carries over into fabric softeners, where the raw material again fragrances the liquid aqueous base of the product. The liquid state of the oil matches the form of fabric softeners. Alongside textile care, the product is also present in air fresheners. Air fresheners disperse its volatile constituents throughout rooms, so the raw material serves in them to impart an odour to the air. Besides air fresheners, natural Roman chamomile essential oil also goes into home fragrance sprays, where it again serves as a source of scent.

Storage

Store natural Roman chamomile essential oil in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. Maintain a temperature of +5°C to +20°C to prevent oxidation and the loss of beneficial properties. After opening, limit the amount of air in the packaging, and as the contents decrease, transfer the remainder into a smaller, clean and dry bottle. Use only aluminium or glass bottles for detergent products, preferably made of dark glass, which protect the essential oil for detergents from light. Close tightly after each use so that air and moisture do not penetrate. Observing these conditions preserves the aroma and quality of the product for a longer period.
